Driving directions to Peace Village

  • From major highways
    1. From NYS Thruway (Route 87) Northbound take Exit 20 (Saugerties). After toll, take left at traffic light, and after one block, take right onto Rt. 32 N.
      OR
      From NYS Thruway (Route 87) Southbound take Exit 20 (Saugerties). After toll, take a right onto Rt. 32 N.
    2. Go approx. 5 miles and at blinking light take left fork onto Rt. 32A,
    3. Go approx. 2.5 miles and at traffic light, take left onto Rt. 23A West.
    4. Go 5 miles and immediately after passing Villa Maria, Peace Village is on the right.

  • From Kennedy (JFK) airport
    1. Follow the exit signs via Van Wyck Expressway.Continue on the Van Wyck Expressway.
    2. After the exit for Main Street the road splits. Keep left to follow Grand Central Parkway.
    3. Continue on Grand Central Parkway, follow the signs for Triboro Bridge and take the bridge.
    4. After the toll, bear left and take Rte 87 (Thruway/Deegan Expressway).
    5. Pass Tappan-Zee Bridge (no toll). After the bridge, go 42 miles and take the toll ticket.
    6. Go another 56 miles and take exit #20 to Saugerties.
    7. Pay the toll, go 1/10 mile and at the traffic light, make left to follow Rte 32 North.
    8. Go to the next block and make right onto Rte 32 North.
    9. Go approx. 5 miles and at a fork with a blinking light, keep left to take Rte 32A.
    10. Go approx. 2.5 miles and at the traffic light take a left onto Route 23A West.
    11. Go 5 miles and immediately after passing Villa Maria, Peace Village is on your right.

    1. Follow the exit signs and then Grand Central Parkway West (it may also mention Triboro Bridge.)
    2. Take Grand Central Parkway West.
    3. Continue on Grand Central Parkway, follow the signs for Triboro Bridge and take the bridge.

    3. On Rte 87, take exit 21 to Catskills.
    4. Pay the toll, go to the stop sign and take a left to follow Rte 23.
    5. Go 1/3 mile and take a right onto Rte 23 West.
    6. Go approx. 4.5 miles and take a left onto Ross Ruland Rd (there is a traffic light and sign).
    7. Go approx. 1.5 miles and make a left on Rte 32 South.
    8. Go 4.7 miles on Rte 32 South and at the traffic light, take a right to follow Rte 23A West.

Bus service to Peace Village

  • Travel Guidelines
    1. If you already know how to get to Port Authority (Bus) station, go to next step. If you are at JFK/LaGuardia, go to 'Ground Transportation' located inside the Terminal building and they will direct you how to take the shuttle bus to Port Authority (Bus) station in New York City.
      Shuttle Journey Time: 45 minutes to New York City.
      Shuttle Cost: To the train or bus From LaGuardia is $10.00 and from JFK is $13.00.
      Note: The Meditation Center & Gallery (another facility of the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual Organization) in Manhattan is located on 5th Avenue and 31st street (2nd floor). If you have several hours before your bus or train, you may want to call them at 212 564 9533 to find out if you can visit them during this time without much inconvenience.
    2. The bus is quite comfortable but note that it runs only twice a day and you would need to arrive 45 minutes ahead of time to get your ticket. The Bus Station in New York City is called The Port Authority Bus Terminal located at 8th Avenue and 40th Street in Manhattan. The entrance is on 41st Street.
      The bus is called Adirondack Trailways and tickets (going to Haines Falls or Hunter) have to be bought at the Trailways ticket counter prior to boarding. Please check at the Information Desk for the area of departure.
    3. Bus Journey Time: 2 hours and 30 minutes. Daily departures are 8:30 am and 5:30 pm.
    4. Bus Ticket Cost: One way $27.55. Round trip: $55.10
    5. Upon your departure from Kingston give us a call (518-589-5000) so that we may arrange a pick up for you when you arrive at Hunter. If we can, we will arrange a pick up or arrange a taxi pick up for $10.00 if you are alone...less if more are traveling.

Train service to Peace Village

    1. Take a taxi service to Peace Village. We have an arrangement with 'Smiley Taxi' (518) 589 6533. If you pre-book this taxi it will cost you $90.00 per person and $10 for each additional person. Alternatively, if you go to Ground Transportation located inside the terminal building, taxis will cost about $120.00 as of 01-May-2006.

From Newark airport to Peace Village via New York

  • On the left side of each terminal you will find Olympia Trails Bus. You may take the bus to New York for either a bus or train connection to Peace Village.
